Support worker permanent rate = $31.73 - $63.46 depending on nights worked + leave entitlements + allowances + super + salary packaging
Support worker casual rate = $39.66 -$72.56 depending on nights worked + allowances + super + salary packaging
**About the Opportunity**
HomePlace provides support to people who live independently and in supported accommodation. We are looking for caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic Support Workers who have a strong social conscience and genuine commitment to improving the lives of people living with a disability.
Supporting people on an individual basis may require:
- Assisting individuals with identifying and achieving their personal goals
- Personal care including toileting, showering/ bathing, dressing and other personal hygiene tasks
- Teaching and modelling appropriate social skills.
- Housekeeping
- Behaviour support
The role will primarily provide person-centred active support with participants over a 7-day schedule.
**About You**
We are looking for Support Workers with:
**Essential**:
- Cert III in Disability or Individual Support or currently in the process of studying
- Experienced in the disability field and a strong communicator.
- Current Provide First Aid and Provide CPR training certificates.
- NDIS New Worker Induction module and NDIS Quality, Safety and You Orientation Module Certificate (this can be completed)
- Have had 3 doses of the COVID Vaccination or willing to have (this is an essential requirement)
- South Australian drivers’ licence, and
- A reliable vehicle that you can use for work purposes.
- Manual Handling training - if you don't have this currently you will need to complete before you start.
**Desirable**
- Experience with Behaviours of Concern
- Experience with high level health care needs
- Assist with Medications training.
- Experience in providing high-level supports such as catheter care, administering intermittent catheters, bowel care and PEG feeding.
- Stoma care training
**Qualities you will bring**:
- An in-depth understanding of person-centred thinking and be able to demonstrate how you put that into practice in your work.
- Ability to understand the vulnerabilities and needs of people with a disability and the issues faced by their families.
- Commitment to rights of people with disabilities
- Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to work independently (without other support workers attending the same shift) and be confident in providing services/support to clients in their homes.
