**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic **Medical Physics Technician** to join our Queensland Medical Physics team. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with the Medical Physics team and the Regional Medical Physics Manager to provide support across multiple Icon Cancer Centres in Brisbane and the surrounding region.
This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or professionals eager to gain hands-on experience with advanced radiotherapy technology and quality assurance activities. In this role you’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge equipment, including Varian linear accelerators and Eclipse treatment planning system, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of medical physicists, radiation therapists, and engineers. This diverse experience will allow you to develop a versatile skillset, deepen your understanding of medical physics practice, and play a key role in ensuring the delivery of world-class cancer care.
**Responsibilities**:
As part of our dedicated Medical Physics team, you will:
- Provide technical for routine quality assurance activities.
- Assist with the maintenance and technical support of radiation oncology equipment.
- Work independently and collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day medical physics activities.
- Contribute to exceptional patient care through precise and efficient support.
**About You**:
We are looking for a motivated individual with a proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills. You thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and are ready to develop your skills in medical physics and equipment support.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering.
- Ability to perform routine medical physics tasks independently after training.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and technical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel across sites and for training as required.
