The Role

As a Learning Accessibility Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting students with disabilities and health conditions across all University campuses. Your primary focus will be to foster an inclusive and accessible university experience by collaborating closely with staff and students to ensure equitable opportunities for success.

This role involves a strong strategic component, working with academic teams to promote and integrate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles into unit and curriculum design. Additionally, you’ll deliver education and training on accessible technologies, empowering staff and students to create a more inclusive environment.

For students whose needs extend beyond UDL initiatives, you’ll provide personalised support, recommending and facilitating appropriate reasonable adjustments. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive positive change, champion accessibility and make a meaningful impact on the student experience.

What you’ll bring to this role- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education with 2 years experience supporting students with a disability or minimum of a Bachelor degree in disability or allied health with at least 2 years experience in accessible learning design or teaching.- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)- Professional experience and knowledge of disability, medical and mental health conditions, their management and functional implications within an educational setting.- Experience using contemporary technologies in educational settings, including fluency in PC and Mac Technology platforms with knowledge of accessibility features.- Ability to contribute to a culture of change in learning and teaching practice with the demonstrated skills to lead, motivate, inspire and deliver quality outcomes.
