We are currently seeking a Deadly Kindy Family Support Practitioner to join our team. The key focus of this role is to build the capability of families using a strengths-based approach to address concerns and improve ongoing outcomes for the family. As a Deadly Kindy Family Support Practitioner, you will actively deliver one-to-one advocacy and support with the aim of increasing access to supports, assistance with health and wellbeing supports, and general family support.
Duties
Provide individual assistance with families who are identified as having concerns related to their social and emotional wellbeing.
Assist with additional interventions as required to address the concerns and to assist the family in achieving their goals.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Family Wellbeing and Family Participation Program to work in coordination as required.
- Liaise with other services to provide a holistic, informed service to the families.
- Build the parenting capability, skills, and knowledge that promote flourishing child rearing.
- Link the family into early intervention, education, and prevention programs at the Child and Family Centre.
- Assist with reducing AOD substance misuse and smoking cessation programs.
- Assist the family with Domestic Violence referrals and support as required.
- Improving family health by coordinating to ATSICHS medical clinics for annual preventative health assessment.
- Improving family dental care by coordinating to ATSICHS dental clinics for annual preventative dental check-up.
- Assistance and facilitation of programs and events.

**Skills and Experiences**:
Required
- Current Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention, or Criminology with 2 years' relevant experience in the social services field or Current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 3 years' relevant experience in the social services field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with Child Safety legislation and frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the factors contributing to vulnerability, disengagement, and intergenerational trauma of client groups.
- Demonstrated ability to build client agency, self-efficacy, and facilitate change through client empowerment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide behaviour change interventions that build client self-awareness and active change in achieving their identified goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work with the whole-of-family, irrespective of the primary client, in meeting the totality of family needs.
- Demonstrated ability in coordinating multiple services in providing access to holistic care for clients, particularly integrating internal agency supports across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated ability and comfortableness working in a performance-driven environment.
- Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills, and a willingness to assist with multiple ad hoc tasks and activities.
- Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
- A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders societies and culture, and the issues impacting upon health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain integrity with confidential and/or sensitive material, and good keyboard skills.
