**Job Summary**: **Interested in making a difference in renewable energies whilst protecting the environment?** We are currently seeking a skilled Field Environmental Advisor with on-site environmental management experience to join us on a number of significant renewable energy projects. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the way in renewable energies for the future, whilst ensuring our environment is cared for **About the role**: You will support the construction of our renewable super grid - transmission lines - by providing on-ground technical advice and support to the project teams. You will have a focus on assisting project managers with environmental management, practical interpretation & implementation of regulatory requirements and verification and reporting of compliance with agreed project environmental management plans. We currently have a fixed-term (approx. 18-months) opportunity available to support our project in Northern Queensland. Ideally you are based in or around Townsville but we also want to hear from you if you would like to be based in Gladstone or Virginia (Brisbane). The role will initially be based on the Genex Kidston Connection Project located north-west of Townsville. The role is intended to be on a 2/1 roster (14 days on/7 days off) to meet project demands and specific high risk project activities. Powerlink will arrange accommodation (house based at Greenvale or Construction camps) during this time. **What you will do**: - Influence, mentor and train key stakeholders on elements of environmental management relevant to the project. - Provide timely information and practical advice to the team to ensure effective management, implementation, adherence and compliance with environmental working plans, environmental advice, permits and approval conditions. - Undertake all regulatory environmental reporting obligations in accordance with permit conditions and other approval requirements. - Prepare local environmental approvals, should the need arise through the construction phase, and ensure submission of amendments on time to minimise project delays. - Investigate and report environmental issues and potential breach events as they occur and recommend corrective actions as required. - Monitor and review any environmental issues or events to undertake further investigations or follow-up actions to achieve positive and enduring outcomes. - Undertake regular environmental inspections and audit functions as agreed with the Project Manager to identify opportunities for improvement to provide technically robust and cost-effective recommendations and solutions. - Provide high quality inputs towards the ongoing development and maintenance of the Powerlink HSE Management Systems. - Collaborate with the HSE team to share knowledge and learnings to provide relevant support. **About you**: You are a passionate and proactive person who thrives in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and changing priorities, whilst working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders. In addition to this, you will also have: - A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or other related discipline. - Solid experience in a similar role managing complex environmental issues and regulatory requirements. - Strong proven experience in environmental management and approvals. - Formal training and technically proficient in the field of erosion and sediment control. "IECA-Approved” certified training is preferred. - Ability to travel extensively and participate in roster arrangements from time to time. - Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management. - High attention to detail, supporting technical report writing and presentation skills. - Current QLD Drivers Licence and experience in four-wheel drive operation. **Why Powerlink**: Besides offering you an attractive remuneration package and additional benefits, we pride ourselves on providing you with a stable, social and supportive work environment.
