Yurika is playing in a very exciting space, supporting the design and construction of Australia’s largest utility-scale wind farms, solar farms, Battery Energy storage (BESS), even EV.
They now have a vacancy for an experienced Field Environmental Officer to develop and manage environmental plans and risks on multiple large scale renewable energy construction projects

**About the Role**
Working in the Energy, Infrastructure and Utility Services group, this is a pivotal role responsible for the development and implementation of environmental and cultural heritage policy to support the delivery of large renewable infrastructure projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide environmental and cultural heritage support on Energy Queensland Group’s capital and maintenance projects by undertaking impact analyses, conducting assessments, audits, developing management plans or other agreements with relevant stakeholders, including the development and delivery of induction and/or awareness sessions as needed.
- Provide environmental and cultural heritage expert advice and relevant training to internal stakeholders during concept, design, construction and maintenance of assets by utilising specialist knowledge to identify and analyse impacts on project costings and timelines as needed.
- Maintains systems that assist in the identification of improvement areas and opportunities in effectiveness and efficiency and in the risk-profile of Ergon Energy’s performance by analysing business performance and team performance providing input to the development of corporate strategies.
- Provide effective management of issues for a large capital works project that is contentious, with potential implications for media / political attention / EQL reputational risk, including developing and implementing a successful strategy for engagement resulting in a negotiated
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Indigenous groups and their representatives, Government Officials and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices
This role is key to the successful development and completion of renewable energy projects with a significant pipeline of work ahead.
**About You**
In order to be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of environmental policy, inlcuding cultural awareness, gained on large infreastyructure projects.
With strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications in environment, health and safety
- Proven experience across all phases of construction projects including cultural heritage and stakeholder engagement
- Lead auditor qualifications or the ability to acquire
- ICAM investigation trained or equivalent training or ability to acquire
- Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to indigenous culture and social issues.
- Thorough understanding of risk management, as relates to environmental, and loss control methodology
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with external and internal stakeholders to achieve fair and ethical outcomes aligned with business objectives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations and conduct meetings.
- Proven ability to manage work independently and operate with a high degree of autonomy while being effective as a member of a remotely based yet professional team.
