**Role Type**: Full time 12-month contract
**Salary**: $94,014 - $114,497 p.a plus superannuation
**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a talented Research Assistant to support a cutting-edge project focused on developing novel cell therapies for kidney failure. This exciting role involves working with a multi-disciplinary team of experts to investigate the in vivo functional capacity of stem cell-derived kidney organoids. This position also offers the opportunity to engage with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW), an international partnership with institutions in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Australia, driving global advancements in regenerative medicine.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Perform mouse engraftment experiments including tissue preparation, surgery and monitoring
Perform tissue processing, staining and optical clearing
Perform 3D confocal imaging or other imaging methods as required
Collate and summarise data for presentations and publications
**What we need from you**:
Degree/Honours/Masters qualification in Science or related discipline and relevant professional experience
Demonstrated experience working with mouse surgical models
Experience with tissue processing, immunostaining and optical clearing
Experience in 3D confocal microscopy, lightsheet microscopy or similar methods
