**About the role**

This newly created role responds to growing strategic demands in transport infrastructure planning. As the Asset Lifecycle Strategy Planner - Track & Civil, you’ll play a key role in shaping lifecycle models and asset class strategies for track and civil assets. Your insights will guide investment decisions, maintenance planning, and long-term asset performance across the network.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Develop and maintain lifecycle models and asset class strategies for track and civil assets.
- Analyse asset condition, performance, and cost data to inform strategic planning.
- Prepare capital business cases and funding submissions aligned with long-term objectives.
- Support the Annual Works Plan through predictive modelling and scenario planning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align asset strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in asset management practices and modelling maturity.
- Lead data-driven initiatives to optimise maintenance and renewal programs.

**About you**

You’re a strategic thinker with a solid foundation in asset management, ideally within rail or transport. You’re curious, collaborative, and ready to contribute to a team that values innovation and practical outcomes. You’re also confident engaging with stakeholders and navigating complex planning environments.
- 3-5 years’ experience in asset management or maintenance (rail or transport preferred).
- Strong understanding of track and civil infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience in lifecycle modelling and predictive analysis.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering or rail infrastructure (degree or equivalent).
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on practical, data-informed solutions.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and contributing to long-term planning.
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
