**About the Role**
We have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our established payroll team to be involved in the payroll process from end to end, including analysis and ensuring accurate entry/recording, processing, and continual auditing of our payroll and employee records database.
**Key responsibilities will be**:
- Accurate processing of fortnightly payroll
- End-to-end processing of all selected (manual and electronic) approved wage records in a timely and accurate manner ensuring compliance of all policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Preparing fortnightly payroll reports inclusive of posting to General Ledger and maintaining payroll and leave liabilities
- Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes
- Prepare complex payroll information for data input and assist with checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity
- Assist the Payroll Team to ensure the business meets its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms, and other documentation as requested
- Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required to ensure employee payments are processed accurately and database integrity is maintained
**About you**:
- Diploma or equivalent certificate in Finance/Accounting will be highly regarded
- Competence and experience in the use of payroll packages, preferably iChris payroll software
- Excel skills - intermediate to advanced
- Approx. 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of Australian & NZ legislation affecting employees, incl. tax legislation, leave entitlements, etc.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Industrial Acts, Superannuation Guarantee Legislation, Awards and Agreements
- Unquestionable integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively handle a large volume of work
- Demonstrated ability to consolidate data from multiple systems to produce analytics
- Experience with variable payroll payments (i.e., commission/performance based) would be beneficial
