**An exciting opportunity exists to join the Division of Surgery at Wollongong Hospital**

**Where you'll be working**
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

**What you'll be doing**

Provisional Fellow of Upper GI and General Surgery will work with three Upper GI surgeons to provide tertiary level Upper GI district wide services including pancreatic, hepatic and oesophagogastric resections for cancer.

Responsible for the provision of independent and effective medical care of surgical patients under the supervision of specialist staff, the UGI Provisional Fellow will undertake emergency surgery and inpatient and outpatient surgical consultations including those in the Emergency Department.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Minimum five years post graduate experience with previous experience in General Surgery
- Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent provisional fellow
- Teamwork and leadership skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in teaching both undergraduate & postgraduate students
- Moderate computer skills
