**Purpose of the role**:
This is a high-profile, cross functional position that plays an integral role in enabling production flow and directly supporting Luerssen Australia in the delivery of 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels and is responsible for ensuring all purchased and fabricated materials are on site on time for construction.
Based in Perth, the Supply Chain materials coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning and management of the on-time delivery of all material, equipment and Government Furnished Supplies and for the delivery of accurate forecast of delivery dates to the shipyards constructing the OPVs for Luerssen Australia
**Key responsibilities**:
- Working in collaboration with Engineering, Production Liaison and subcontractors, develop the planning methodology for the on-time delivery of material, equipment, supplies and GFE (materials) into the two shipyards constructing the OPVs for Luerssen Australia.
- Manage Materials Master Data accuracy, on time delivery and performance metrics.
- Participate in multi-discipline design reviews and provide inputs into long lead items and the development of detailed material delivery schedules.
- Ensure that our supply networks are aligned to the service requirements; necessary contracts are in place and following up to resolve all open issues.
- Effectively engage key partners within supply chain, quality, finance, process development, operations and other functional areas as needed.
- Conduct the detailed reporting and analysis for Supply Chain, including material delivery progress and reforecast as appropriate.
- Conduct forecast analysis to forecast shortages, delays or impacts based on in depth industry knowledge.
- Support the conduct of impact analysis of Engineering Change with the identification of long lead items and complex material supplies.
- Investigate and answer issue(s) applicable to the role. Includes TQ(s) / TQE(s) created through JIRA and the BUF system.
- Drive subcontractors and internal stakeholders to deliver against the agreed schedules.
- Support the BOM analysis from the L-AUS ERP system, with detailed analysis and association to the appropriate work package.
- Support the detailed work order development (by the shipyards) with identification of BOM sequencing and availability.
- Review change for impact assessments against schedules and manage outcomes, for e.g. engineering change, technical queries etc.
- Analyse assigned location performance, identify problems and develop recommendations to ensure supply meets shipyard and schedule demand.
- Provide support to other functions as required.
- Develop Program Reports for internal review.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
**Experience**:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or Trade qualifications (Desired)
- 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing industry, in a Senior planning role
- Sound understanding of project schedule and management principles, tools and techniques
- Prior experience in Defence or Shipbuilding projects (Desired)
- Problem solver with high sense of responsibility to achieve results
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Conversant with scheduling and planning principles
- Advanced MS Excel skills and conversant with other Microsoft Office Applications and ERP / PLM systems
- Excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
