**About the Role**:
Our client is an award-winning tertiary educator, seeking a highly skilled **Data Modeller** to join their small team.

You’ll work with technical SMEs and business stakeholders on projects to support the full student lifecycle (from enrolment to graduation) by implementing **cutting edge** technology and solutions.

For this initial project, you’ll work on enhancing the automation of data ingestion capabilities using **AI/Machine Learning** tech.

**About You**:
Looking at data from more than one dimension is second nature to you, and you understand data structures, governance, and how automation reflects data lineage.

You’ll have strong technical knowledge of modelling data for outcomes (using ERWIN) and will work on Microsoft Purview for data governance.

**What your day will look like**:

- Design, implement and maintain the data catalog and data security layer
- Design, implement and maintain the data pipeline to the semantic layer
- Efficient data management and operations of the data lake and analytic tier
- Continuous improvement in datasets in the data lake
- Ability to prioritize issues according to business impacts
- Focus on both business outcomes with optimal technical/analytical solutions

**Skills you’ll need**:

- At least 3 years of experience in conceptual and physical data modelling
- A solid understanding of modern data representation needs within a complex business environment
- Experience in data modeling, data architecture, and data warehousing technologies and practices - Microsoft (MSBI) would be highly regarded
- Relevant degree and postgraduate qualifications in Data Analytics
- Experience in building/maintaining and using enterprise-grade business glossary and data catalog, with extensive experience in statistics and/or mathematics with strong knowledge of statistical data modeling techniques
- Experience in data lake technology, data management, business intelligence, data visualization tools, cloud-based big data, data quality, and security management
