**Role Description/Criteria**

MHIPS (Mental Health in Primary Schools)

The role of the MHIPS Leader is to build the capability of the whole school community about mental health and wellbeing (identification, promotion and prevention).

The role of the Wellbeing Leader is to work collaboratively with staff to lead, support and embed wellbeing practices and processes across the school.

The duties include but are not limited to:

- Provide leadership to staff to better identify and support student mental health needs
- Lead The Resilience Project across the school
- Monitor and evaluate student progress
- Research and implement evidence based strategies to support mental health
- Lead a whole school approach to mental health
- Attendance Monitoring
- Social Skills Groups Oversight
- Engage in community education regarding Wellbeing and Mental Health
- Organise and communicate Inform and Empower Sessions
- Advise on Wellbeing planning across all levels
- Participate in completing MHIPS Training and Communities of Practice ( as required)
