Principal Business Systems Officer

Reporting to the Systems Manager, within the Insights and Digital team, the Principal Business Systems Officer will be responsible for providing high level advice and practical solutions for procurement system issues and participate in meetings and forums to facilitate collaborative decisions on current and emerging issues. The position works as senior part of a team of business support officers and will assist the Systems Manager in the supervision and management of the Business Support Unit help desk.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide high level advice and practical solutions for procurement system issues and participate in meetings and forums to facilitate collaborative decisions on current and future business systems.
- Provide support to the Systems Manager with the day to day running of the Help Desk and acts as the escalation point for complex issues.
- Provide support in the provision of metrics/reports related to systems usage and help desk operations.
- Provide training support to agencies where required to enhance the effective use of procurement knowledge management and information systems across government.
- Establish and facilitate communities of practice/working groups with budget sector agencies to share knowledge, innovation and best practice and promote collaboration across agencies.
- Contributing to the development and managing the implementation of a whole-of government procurement technology strategy and project, including the preparation of briefing materials and project documentation.
- Undertake the analysis and invoicing of agencies under the agreed cost recovery model for relevant systems.
- Assist the Systems Manager to proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of staff in the Help Desk team.
