The opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Commercial Analyst with 2 years of telecommunications experience to join our tight knit team based in Melbourne. As Commercial Analyst you’ll provide commercial leadership and insights for the Retail division by identifying and capturing value. This role is a critical position in the organization responsible for the commercial management across the business with responsibility to drive value, enable effective decision making while introducing sustainable governance.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
- Economic modelling of product pricing structures and proposed future changes such as price decreases/increases or the introduction of new products.
- Build financial models to support development of business cases to make the right capital and business decisions.
- Present the financial recommendations and justifications for business cases to senior management.
- Validate business cases and conduct variance analysis and benefits realisation.
- Provide high quality and timely advice to support to internal teams with regards to customer and product profitability and effective capital investment
- Identify new commercial opportunities and provide creative and innovative solutions to continue to grow and develop the team’s commercial strategy.
- Supporting the Finance Planning & Analysis team in development of the overall Retail budgets and forecasts.
- Business partner with financial and non-financial stakeholders including operational teams and management effectively to achieve aligned goals.
- Ad-hoc modelling to support the business as required.

What you bring to this role
- You hold or are working towards a postgraduate qualification such as CA or CPA.
- Possess strong people leadership skills with an ability to grasp, comprehend, communicate, and present complex financial, strategic, and operational information to a wide audience.
- High performing individual with excellent financial modelling and analytical skills
- Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective decisions.
- Can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately then create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans.
- Is widely trusted and seen as a direct and truthful individual.
- A high level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen
