The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Team Leader (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead the integration of the key objectives from the strategic/operational plans into service delivery
- Integrate the principles of contemporary human, material and financial resource management
- Integrate and operationalise key objectives and strategies for a work-based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research and workforce development
- Coordinate, formulate and direct policies relating to the provision of mental health care or disciplinary specific specialty services
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Working with children check (Social Worker only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- While not mandatory, appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded
- Aged Care check
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19. This includes receiving the prescribed subsequent dose/s of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e. booster)
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $130 149 - $135 803 per annum

Mental Health and Specialist Services provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented, based in Southport.
The Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provide 24-hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care services. This team's role is to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission, based in Southport.
