**Overview of the role**

This is a great 8-month fixed term contract opportunity for a procurement or travel professional to deliver procurement category management across Suncorp, focusing on Travel Services.

It will require the development of category plans and strategies, subsequent sourcing/negotiation initiatives and ongoing vendor management of services.

You will need resilience and strong communication skills with the ability to hold tough conversations, in return you will work within a great team environment providing you with support and plenty of growth opportunities.

**What you’ll do**:

- Develop and implement category plans, sourcing strategies and/or negotiation strategies
- Identify initiatives that derive benefits through sourcing, demand management and/or contract management opportunities
- Manage a category of existing suppliers and contracts including analysis of existing contracts and current spend
- Ensure contract renewals are competitive, delivered through an appropriate supply model and well scoped
- Manage supplier performance including SLA’s governance and other contract deliverables
- Execute extensions, variations and terminations of legal instruments that meet stakeholders’ business needs
- Prioritise initiatives according to business criticality, capacity requirements, inter-dependencies and potential benefits

**What you’ll bring**:

- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in procurement and category management within a medium to large complex organisation or a background in the travel industry
- Experience with Travel Services type agreements
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and resilience with the ability to hold tough conversations are essential
- Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base.
- Experienced in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results
- Ability to work with agility in a changing environment
