**Primary Responsibilities**:

- **Daily Living Assistance**:

- Support the participant with personal care tasks such as dressing, showering, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary preferences and nutritional needs are met.
- Provide support with housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- **Community Access**:

- Accompany the participant to appointments, activities, and community outings as required.
- Support their participation in hobbies, classes, or social events to enhance independence and engagement.
- **Behaviour Support**:

- Follow the participant’s Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) to address likes, dislikes, and strategies for managing agitation.
- Adhere to the PRN protocol and provide timely support during behavioural escalations.
- Maintain a calm and respectful approach to de-escalate challenging situations.
- **Medication Management**:

- Assist with administering medications as per the prescribed protocol, especially during PRN requirements.
- **Documentation and Communication**:

- Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents.
- Communicate regularly with the team and family (if required) regarding the participant’s wellbeing.
- **Emotional and Social Support**:

- Build a trusting and respectful relationship with the participant.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance mental and emotional wellbeing.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Relevant qualifications in disability support or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Behaviour Support Plans and PRN protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Current first aid certificate, working with children check, and NDIS worker screening.

**Job Type**: Subcontract

Pay: $35.50 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 36 per week

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
