**The Role**

The EM Short Tail Portfolio contributes to the financial performance of the Commercial & Intermediated portfolio by managing the portfolio strategy and product governance across Property, Construction (run-off), Engineering and Fleet Motor.

You will contribute to the financial performance of the Commercial Portfolio by creating Product Strategies and tactics to optimise risk and return over the short and long term.

Also, you will lead a team of portfolio managers and product specialists to ensure a robust control environment across Insurance and Operational Risk.

**What you’ll do**
- Develop a clear portfolio and go to market strategy for each of the Short Tail Portfolios, taking into consideration market opportunity, group risk appetite and market performance. This may include new product strategy, product enhancements/variations, pricing alterations, changes to risk appetite, alterations to distribution methods etc
- Develop business cases to enable executive level decisions regarding strategic investment
- Empower and encourage the team to deliver tactical solutions in absence of strategic investment
- Work closely with the broader Leadership Team to ensure broader commercial priorities are considered in strategic recommendations
- Deliver financial results against Medium Term ITR targets for each Short Tail product
- Improve Commercial Risk and Compliance Maturity by engendering a Risk Culture that complies with obligations, strengthens controls, effectively manages incidents against a moderate risk appetite and forecasts the likely future regulatory regime

**What you’ll bring**
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Extensive commercial experience in insurance
- Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting and pricing practices
