We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter - Afternoon Shift to join the Operations Team in Sunshine VIC.

Reporting the Plant Engineer this role is pivotal in ensuring machine uptime and optimised operations. This role will be part of the key team to identify and implement improvement opportunities as well as being accountable for performing any repairs and productive maintenance.

**Your areas of responsibility**:

- Carry out maintenance & service of machines and plant in accordance with Company's/Manufactures' safety and quality standards.
- Review visual boards to determine mechanical issues across all lines and develop a corrective action plan to be implemented to resolve issues and communicate via visual boards and/or team discussions.
- Plan, prioritise, coordinate, track and maintain maintenance program - service and repair requirements of the company plant & equipment with mínimal disruption to companies work schedule.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, diagnose, and rectify mechanical plant, equipment & systems faults.
- Conduct job safety analysis and assist shift Production Managers with developing safe work methos statements as required.
- Control and manage the upkeep of all service records.
- Ensure adequate maintenance stock levels are maintained.
- Ensure operators understand the correct and daily maintenance requirements of plant and equipment in conjunction with shift Production Managers.
- Provide feedback and recommendations about ergonomic viability of company plant and equipment and potential capital expenses/purchases.
- Housekeeping of maintenance storage areas
- Process Improvement - identify areas of improvement, make efficiency recommendations, test improvements implemented, conduct training and draft new procedures of operation.
- Provide line support - checking line machinery is operating efficiently, conducting visual inspections, reporting issues.
- Understand and adhere to company's WH&S policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.

**Qualifications we are looking for**:

- Relevant Australian trade qualification / Australian mechanical trade qualification.
- Electricians Licence / relevant electrical trade qualification - highly advantageous.
- Proven industrial experience in installations, fault finding, repairs and maintenance on manufacturing equipment associated with packaging and palletising.
- Ability to problem solve and chase issues to sustained solutions.
- Experience in working with stainless steel and TIG welding.
- Experience in basic metal fabrication work.
- String knowledge of pneumatic controlled values and electronic sensors.
- Basic lathe and mill operating skills required.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing industry.
- Experience with MEX software would be an advantage.
- Restricted Electrical Licence to disconnect/reconnect is advantageous.
- High risk work/EWP Licence is advantageous.
- Forklift Licence ideal but not essential.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Safety Conscious and good housekeeping skills.
