We currently have the opportunity for suitably experienced workers to join our Depot services in Maroubra on a casual basis. We have positions across our Waste and Cleaning Service, Roads Services and Open Space Services teams.

The roles on offer are:

- **Multi-Skilled Worker **- Grade 3 ($36.21 - $39.82 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading)
- **Plant Operator/Multi-Skilled Worker** - Grade 6 ($38.74 - $42.62 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading)

In these positions, you will be required to undertake maintenance activities throughout the local area including residential suburbs, town centres, beaches, parks, sportsfields, streets, footpaths and other public places. A commitment to workplace safety is fundamental as well as providing superior customer service to promote a positive image of Council.

In addition to these duties, Plant Operators/Multi-Skilled Workers will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of plant and vehicles. A MR/HR drivers licence is an essential requirement for this role in particular.

**What you will bring**
- Demonstrated experience working in a team and an operational environment
- Experience dealing with members of the public
- Good written and oral communication skills
- An ability to perform duties with mínimal supervision
- Be self-motivated and show initiative in the delegated areas of responsibility
- A willingness to comply with all Council’s policies and procedures
- A current WHS General Construction Induction (White) card
- A current HR or MR Class driver’s licence (for Plant Operator/Multi-Skilled Workers only)

**Things you will do**
- Undertake Waste, Roads or Open Space maintenance duties.
- Effectively perform all activities in accordance with Council’s Safe Work Method Statements
- Focus on quality customer service based on needs of the community

Specifically, for Plant Operator/Multi-Skilled Worker positions:

- Be responsible for the general cleanliness and appearances of Council’s vehicle whilst under your control
- Operate plant equipment consistent with manufacturer’s specifications
- Ensure completion of vehicle maintenance check sheets and reporting any damage or mechanical repairs needed
- Efficiently carry out plant maintenance and drive council vehicles in safe manner
