**About the opportunity**

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to deliver illegal dumping and litter reduction initiatives where you can see behaviour change in action and an impact on the local area.

This role involves working with the community and internal and external stakeholders to:

- Reduce the amount of household clean up material that is incorrectly disposed of
- Investigate reports of illegal dumping and gather evidence
- Issue fines for littering.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Certificate IV or Diploma qualification in environment, educational or community regulation disciplines or related field
- Solid experience required in Local Government and/or development of strategies and policies
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the research, analysis, development and management of projects, plans and policies
- Strong time management skills essential, with proven ability to manage several projects at once, prioritise accordingly, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Current class C driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Ability to interpret and implement relevant regulation and policy and ensure Council’s processes and procedures comply
- Well-developed negotiation skills and conflict resolution capabilities
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work flexible working hours
- Ability to work within a team environment.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Leaseback vehicle
