We are partnering with a leading Australian product design and development consultancy to help them find an established Program Manager. The role will focus on refining and building upon their existing project management methodology and frameworks, which will enable them to expand their service offering to larger scale projects and ultimately grow the business. The role also requires cross-functional program management and hands on delivery of concurrent projects.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Director of Operations. The Program Manager will be the conduit between clients and cross-functional teams, drive best practices for the entire delivery framework and other Project Managers, uplift project governance and controls, and implement wider and more comprehensive resource management across the business.

**Position objectives/Responsibilities**:

- As a Program Manager
- Drive project deliverables to ensure they are completed on time and within budget and scope.
- Nurture, oversee and strategically manage client accounts and projects
- Work with teams in the USA and Australia to deliver outcomes.
- Drive forecasting and resource allocation.
- Work openly to review and remove project roadblocks.
- Review project risk and propose counteractions.
- Support conversion activities
- Planning and estimating tasks and quotation support
- Understand client needs and priorities, review client briefs/create reverse briefs
- Support the relationship manager in building trust with clients
- Pull information together to support conversion activities, such as inputs from other team members and pitch documentation
- As a change agent
- Drive improvement of project management skills and processes across the business.
- Implement new frameworks and provide additional layers of rigour around project governance.
- Offer constructive feedback as part of a continuous improvement culture.

**You should have**:

- Compelling program/project management experience in a product based business.
- An understanding of the product development lifecycle from ideation to production.
- Experience working with product designers, across mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, firmware and industrial design.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen.
- Experience taking high volume products through to manufacturing.
- Some experience in small teams with demonstrated experience of standing alone.
- Ideally, experience working in product development consultancies or an understanding of client needs and meeting requirements.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.

**What’s next**

This is a critical role to the success and growth of our client, and as such, the interview process will have multiple detailed stages. There will be an initial screening process, and multiple interviews with directors and department heads.
