**Lighthouse **is one of our teams at headspace. The Lighthouse team is a recovery-oriented service which aims to provide access to effective, safe, and appropriate care for adolescents (aged 12 - 18 years) who are experiencing the impacts of complex trauma in their lives.

We support young people, and their family/carers/kin, who have been affected by adverse childhood experiences, to learn skills around the management of symptoms and promote hope in healing so that the young person can fulfil their potential.

We deliver evidence-based treatment and therapies within an optimistic, youth friendly culture. Lighthouse works to an internationally agreed set of best practice principles of care, following the Blue Knot Practice Guidelines for Treatment of Complex Trauma.

**Your opportunity**

We are currently recruiting for two Clinicians to join the Lighthouse team. These are a full-time, ongoing roles based at the headspace Southport office. You will join a small but impactful multidisciplinary team who specialise in the treatment of complex trauma.

You will have the opportunity to independently manage your own case load of up to 20 young people whom you will work with for up to 18 months. You will be responsible for treatment planning, providing individual trauma informed therapy, and co-facilitating social groups.

Working within the Blue Knot Guidelines, you will provide therapeutic interventions and provide a safe and stable environment to our young people, with the aim of reducing their trauma responses, improving their levels of engagement in meaningful activities, improving their understanding of the impact complex trauma has on their current presentation and improving their functioning.

You will provide holistic care to the young person, by also engaging effectively with their family/ carers and will work with other stakeholders such as schools, GPs, and other support services. You will also be able to discuss treatment approaches with other Clinicians within a multidisciplinary team, to develop the young person’s individual treatment plan.

The base remuneration for this role is $77,577 to $88.761 per annum, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience + superannuation.

**What you’ll bring**

To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need:

- Essential: _
- Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing, and current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with AASW.
- Experience in mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, risk assessments and short-term psychosocial treatment for young people experiencing complex mental health disorders.
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals, and outside agencies.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage your own case load as well as an ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Strong time management skills and ability to balance workloads while maintaining self-care.
- Demonstrated ability to actively engage and work collaboratively with young people and their families/carers/kin.
