**The role**
The NSW Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN) was formed in 2005 to encourage collaboration and commitment to cardiovascular research in NSW. It includes all major cardiovascular research institutions in NSW, and the researchers within them. The NSW Government’s Office of Health and Medical Research is a major funding partner of the CVRN, and the network has over 500 active members.
Reporting to the Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN) Manger, you will use your strong administration, coordination and relationship building skills to provide high-level to support across CVRN activities.
**Key accountabilities**
**Members**
- Maintain CVRN relevant databases, files, spreadsheets, registers, and distribution lists.
- Manage the membership database (incl. Rising Stars) ensuring it is regularly updated and that member requests are addressed promptly.
- Maintain good working relationship with CVRN members, internal and external stakeholders, providing knowledge and support when required.
**Grants**
- Manage the pre and post award administration of grant schemes associated with the NSW CVRN: assisting with the review of guidelines, communicating schemes to members, organising meetings for review committees, communicating outcomes to applicants and the network, managing agreements with awardees and institutions, including invoices received and paid, tracking progress of awardees, ensuring milestone and final reports are received.
**Events**
- Assist with planning of CVRN events, including workshops, seminars, networking events, competitions and the annual Showcase and Ministerial Awards.
- Ensure effective coordination and execution of all events, including management of volunteers, external stakeholders, and vendors.
- Liaise with Heart Foundation research program alumni to showcase and leverage research.
**Committees**
- Prepare and organise meetings of the CVRN Executive, the Rising Stars Sub-Committee and any other sub-committee, including managing calendar and travel invitations, liaising with committee members, booking venues and organising and managing videoconferencing.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of Meeting agendas and papers, compiling, and distributing papers for meetings, attending meetings and recording and preparing minutes and completing action items as required.
**Communication**
- Respond to day-to-day enquiries relating to the network, reviewing, and actioning correspondence where necessary, while acting as the key liaison with all internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Provide stakeholder management to ensure the flow of information between the Executive Committee, Rising Star Committees, Heart Foundation, NSW Health and our members and organisations is effective and timely.
- Manage the promotion of CVRN initiatives to members, institutions, and key stakeholders, utilising appropriate communication channels for example social media.
- Promote and disseminate information to the network regarding activities and opportunities external to CVRN.
- Work collaboratively with other relevant Heart Foundation teams for example Marketing and Digital teams to prepare and deliver communication.
- Act in accordance with the Heart Foundation’s values and consistently demonstrate the agreed organisational behaviours including a commitment to community and volunteer engagement and diversity and inclusion principles.

**Qualifications**
Appropriate qualifications or demonstrated experience in office management, event management, research administration, or related field.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
- Excellent administrative skills and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Zoom.
- Management of databases.
- Experience in event management and marketing of events.
- Working knowledge of digital assets, including abilities to manage content for social media.
- Self-starter and ability to work without supervision.
