An exciting opportunity to work for a large state government department as a Budget Support Officer.

**Your new company**
We have partnered with a government department client to assist in their search for a Budget Support Officer. Reporting into the Manager of Budget and Programming, the role is to assist the budget officer with budget and development processes, ensuring budget data is maintained on a timely basis.
The role is based in the East Perth and is a 6 month temporary assignment with extension possibilities. Ideally you will be immediately available and ready to start as soon as possible.

**Your new role**
As a Budget Support Officer, your responsibilities will include:

- Assist with the budget and development process
- Ensure budget data in the reporting system is maintained on a timely basis
- Assist in preparation of the consolidated annual and outer-years programs, the development, monitoring, and reporting on financial activities
- Ensure that internal budgeting systems align with external approvals
- Financial management reporting for program development

**What you'll need to succeed**
Previous experience as a Budget Support Officer is essential, as is:

- Advanced skills in Excel
- Previous work experience in a large organisation
- A Diploma or Degree in Finance (desirable)
- Experience in financial reconciliations is (desirable)
- Good communication
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
