Join Origin as a
Senior
Grid Modelling Engineer
and help connect Australia's next generation of energy projects to the grid. You'll lead technical modelling, collaborate with experts, and work with industry regulators to deliver smart, future-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage complex grid and generator performance models to meet Generator Performance Standards for new energy projects.
- Select and oversee specialist consultants for grid modelling, including GPS packages, MLF assessments, and constraints analysis.
- Lead technical negotiations and maintain strong relationships with AEMO, TNSPs, DNSPs, and state-based authorities.
- Provide expert advice and approvals on grid connection strategies and future grid options.
- Conduct detailed analysis of current and future grid configurations to identify optimal connection points.
- Support project development and acquisition due diligence by assessing connection risks and opportunities
What will you bring?
- Engineering degree with extensive relevant experience in the Australian energy market.
- Proven expertise in grid connection processes and regulatory frameworks within the National Electricity Market.
- Strong understanding of AEMO's Integrated System Plan and future grid technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical consultants and deliver high-impact modelling outcomes.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as PSCAD, PSSE, DigSILENT PowerFactory, and other grid simulation and modelling platforms.
