**About the Department of Education**:

The Performance Unit is responsible for driving performance improvement insights across the division to support evidence-based decision making. This includes alignment and integration across data and performance analysis, program and project management, and investment and evaluation management.
**Your Role**:As the Principal Policy Officer, you will**:

- This role presents an opportunity to be creative, make a positive impact and build organisational capability.
- You will be required to lead and influence others, use your ability to think creatively, communicate complex concepts and make informed recommendations to senior and executive management.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Undertake data analysis and develop analytical tools to assist other teams in decision-making processes.
- Research and analyse issues, collate and manipulate data and synthesise complex information into clear, customer-led outputs.
- Provide advice regarding potential sites for co-location of early childhood and community facilities.

**About You**:

- A strong background in one or more of the following - performance improvement, policy, evaluation, data analysis.
- High level proficiency in Excel and Power BI would be highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work across a number of programs and projects.
- Exceptional writer and communicator.
- Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills.
- Innovative and collaborative.
