**About the Role**
As a member of the Innovation and Enterprise (I&E) portfolio of RIC, the Manager Major Initiatives is responsible for development and submissions in major, complex competitive grant programs including, but not limited to, CRC, ITRP and Centre of Excellence schemes. Leading a small, highly capable team, the role will work closely with lead researchers, Faculty stakeholders and RIC team members across the I&E and Major Initiatives, Contracts, Grants and Finance portfolios to effectively respond to major funding opportunities. Focus for the role will be developing a pipeline of competitive propositions across various schemes, providing expert advice to research teams and to senior University stakeholders, delivering excellence in pre-award support, and where possible directly supporting specific proposal development.

**About You**
With postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (and/or a mix of education and relevant experience), you have a record of success in supporting researchers to prepare winning proposals for major research projects and programs in a research, technology-rich or university environment. You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to build and manage both internal and external university/industry relationships, and you bring an enthusiastic, creative, and self-motivated approach and have a flexible, solutions-oriented attitude. An inspiring people leader, you have the capacity to work with and support researchers in the preparation of business plans and budgets for major research projects and programs, with the high-level organisational and project management skills needed to ensure your team delivers to deadline.
