**Role**
The Academic Success Centre Manager is responsible for leading a growing team of Academic Learning Advisors across five campuses. Together with the team you will deliver learning support to students with a holistic view to improving their academic performance and their overall learning experience. Along with the leadership responsibility, Academic Success Centre Manager has a hands-on role helping students with their study needs, providing individual student consultations, and cultivating a friendly environment.
**Responsibilities**
- Be the first point of contact for the team of Academic Learning Advisors (ALA)
- Motivate and engage the team to achieve key objectives
- Encourage teamwork and initiative to foster a high-performing and student-centric culture
- Provide staff with coaching and training on how to identify and respond to students’ learning needs
- Actively promote the use of Academic Success Centre (ASC) resources and advice
- Deliver workshops and facilitate study groups
- Oversee, and contribute to, ASC content development
- Liaise with academic leaders and lecturers in regard to any assessment issues or trends that arise
- Oversee and modify as needed the intervention procedures for students on the At-risk Register, in communication with the Registrar team
- Coordinate the ASC’s contribution to the management of students suspected of academic misconduct
- Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of ASC tasks, resources, workshops and processes
- Be the first point of contact for the Information Resources team (shared services) for any library processes or changes and communicate information to ALAs and other relevant KBS stakeholders
- Serve as an active member on meetings, committees, boards and project groups
- Collaborate with other KBS teams to improve student outcomes, operational effectiveness, communication and professional relationships

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications in Education (or similar) (essential)
- Experience with international students (essential)
- Experience leading and motivating a small team (essential)
- Experience in a teaching or support-type role at a higher education institution (essential)
- English as a Second Language teaching experience and relevant qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of active teaching principles and practices
- Availability to travel interstate
- Experience managing a remote team (desirable)
- Membership of a professional association in the education sector (desirable)
