- As the Lead of the OCC, you will take charge of a small team of OCC professionals who are tasked with ensuring the successful management of the day to day monitoring of operations; which includes but is not limited to the management of disruptions, crew changes, incidents, vehicle breakdowns and communication to staff and customers as required.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the TfNSW bus network. In addition to strong leadership skills, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to manage incidents in a calm and efficient manner.
**About the role**
In greater detail the role is responsible for:
Overseeing day-to-day operations to manage disruptions, crew changes, incidents and vehicle breakdowns.- Managing the operational control room function to ensure proactive, rapid and effective management of daily operations.- Reporting to the OCC Manager with relevant information and reports pertaining to OCC function and performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.- Acting as a first point of escalation for the OCC Officers should an incident arise.- Be the first point of escalation to all internal and external stakeholders as required.- Providing daily briefings to the OCC Officers and preparing the team for any expectations of the day including any known events.- Initiating first response actions to emergency incidents on the network and communicating incidents with external stakeholders.- Supervising and supporting the OCC operators ensuring a timely and effective response to planned/unplanned disruptions.- Supporting and developing OCC Officers in their monitoring and adjusting of services.- Collaborating with key stakeholders in preparing and delivering operational reports and plans.- Contributing to the improvement of OCC delivery standards.- Managing incidents efficiently and effectively to return services to their scheduled timetable and on-time running.- Develop new procedures and training modules for OCC operators, whilst reviewing the existing ones to meet the changing business needs as required.- Develop, implement and continually improve plans, processes and procedures to ensure all operational KPI are met as per business requirements.- Monitors team activities and adherence to health, safety and environment standards while improvement opportunities are identified and acted upon- Reviews health, safety and environment risks and risk management, implementing changes as necessary**About you**
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to be able to relay critical incident information to key stakeholders including third party parties such as law enforcement parties as required;
- Problem-solving abilities and a strong sense of initiative.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Substantial operational experience in transport, logistics or services industry
- Exposure to scheduling and network planning
- Demonstrated experience in an emergency response environment.
