Local Government client based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

**Your new role**
As a UX/UI designer, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end UX/UI design for a range of projects and initiatives across client’s Digital channels. You will take an active role in customer research, scope/definition, design, and development in support of best-in-class digital experiences. You must be well versed in User-Centred Design and Design-led product development techniques and be able to translate customer and business insights into value adding digital experiences.

Role and responsibilities:

- Deep dive into the customer journey to develop a detailed understanding of their needs and expectations.
- Design and create solutions that prioritise best of breed customer experience.
- Organise and conduct customer workshops and meet with business stakeholders to scope business requirements.
- Test and measure customer responses to product features to establish benchmarks and to identify potential areas of improvement.
- Communicate design principles and objectives. Ability to translate the information into specifications that supports engineering teams.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Minimum of 3+ years' previous experience and proven capability working as a UX/UI Designer developing user focused, responsive web and digital design products and operating in a large, complex environment with a wide range of business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Centred Design (HCD), design thinking, and Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience with a strong work portfolio that demonstrates systematic and creative design thinking as well as a deep understanding of UI/UX/HCD best practices.
- Ability to influence senior audiences, showing strategic thinking to support your evidence based, data driven design decisions and rationale.
- Well-developed research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify emerging issues, trends and risks, and the expertise to resolve complex operational and sensitive stakeholder problems.
- Demonstrated experience planning and conducting user research and testing, and familiarity with various research and mapping techniques to capture and design the user experience.
- Strong ability to recognise and predict use cases and user interaction, including knowledge of customer journey mapping and customer co-design principles incorporated into designs.
- Demonstrated competence in wireframe development and prototyping, usability testing and W3C web accessibility standards.
