**About the team**:
Coles Liquor is a trusted retailer with three iconic trading banners, Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars. Our purpose is to help adult Australians lead happier and healthier lives by drinking in a responsible and sustainable way. As a drink’s specialist, Coles Liquor hosts an extensive range of wines, spirits and beers and we are passionate about providing customers with local and relevant products.

Our knowledgeable Team Members serve customers through our network of more than 930 stores and ultra-convenient online sites, delivering on our commitment to provide accessible drink solutions for every occasion.

**About the role**:
A key member of the banner portfolio, this role drives the commercial strategy into plan & transformation. They understand and collaborate to create the innovation plans and projects, aligned to the omnichannel banner strategy and banner value strategy.

This is a key cross functional influencing role, that will leverage your commercial experience in category to drive improvements in sales and profit contribution. You will be focussed on maximising the use of banner space, and differentiation of the customer offer through execution of plans aligned to the banner and value strategies.

You’ll also:

- Drive commercial transformation and innovation plans and projects, that are aligned to our corporate / merchandise strategy
- Anticipate and solve for complex issues, challenges, and emerging opportunities; ensure successful execution through optimal operational performance
- Identify and execute sources of end-to-end cost reduction and simplification with suppliers
- Ensure initiatives are delivered to budget and business benefits are realised

**About you and your skills**:
We’re looking for a commercially astute professional with experience as a Category Manager & specifically in assessment of Range & Space.

You’ll also have:

- High degree of understanding of P&L composition, and end-to-end and cross-functional improvement levers, backed by demonstrated experience and understanding of P&L management and leading P&L improvements
- Stakeholder influencing and leadership skills to deliver on operational and strategic objectives
- Connecting the strategic, commercial and operating landscape of the business to advocate for and drive change and improvement projects
- Experience with managing vendor relationships and contracts
- Good knowledge of the Liquor category and liquor industry
- Strong negotiation skills, with an understanding of different negotiation strategies and techniques
- Online trading experience a preferred but not essential
