The position is responsible for the management of all health records in both the scanned (digital/electronic) and paper formats as well as strategic, operational, financial, and staff management which includes: recruitment, training, development, and appraisal of Wyong HIS staff.

The position provides leadership in relation to the management of health information and the transition to a digital (scanned) health record and eMR and is based at Wyong Hospital with the requirement to travel regularly across the District.

**About You**
- As a leader you are expected to support the organisation achieve the aims of the safety management system, to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, and to consult with workers and others when making decisions that may impact the health, safety, and welfare of those in the workplace.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management or equivalent; or demonstrated experience as a manager within health, with strong and proven knowledge of Health Information Services. Experience with a digitised medical record is preferable.
- Proven ability to motivate and provide strong leadership and strategic direction to a diverse team including the willingness and ability to cover all positions within the department when necessary ensuring seamless, customer-focussed service provision.
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, conflict management, consultative liaison, and the ability to conduct training and presentation sessions at all levels and to large groups.
- Demonstrated excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills, particularly in the area of managing multiple tasks and multidisciplinary issues to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and lead change management activities while maintaining an awareness of change management implementation issues.
- Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to NSW Ministry of Health policies and procedures relevant to the management of health information and medical record management.
