SQL Database Administrator

State government organisation is seeking a SQL server Database Administrator to join their team.

**Your new role**

You will ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), you will test backups and troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur.

You will configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimise false alarms and install, migrate and configure new SQL Servers as well as deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors.

You will document the company’s database environment and fix any performance issues in the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have experience with SQL 2016 and SQL 2019
- Database Partitioning knowledge
- Experience Performance tuning
- Experience failover Clustering, Availability Groups - configuring, monitoring
