**Description**:
The Opportunity
CatholicCare are seeking a Food Programs Coordinator to join their passionate Team and help make a difference.
This is a Max term contract
- Starting end of September, although could develop into further career opportunities You will be based at our Mayfield office
About the Role
CatholicCare’s Food Programs, range from parish-based community kitchens, mobile community kitchen, and breakfast clubs and supporting people experiencing homelessness, food insecurity and social isolation to access these services and provide support to vulnerable people to enjoy a meal and nonjudgmental conversation.
**Key Tasks**:
- Coordinate and support volunteers to deliver these services.
- Partner with the Catholic School and other external non-government agencies
- Operate our mobile food services and support the community during natural disasters to provide welfare and support to communities in crisis.
- Recruitment, train and help support new and existing volunteers
- Offer support and advice to the Mid Coast Food Programs team that is supervised by the Area Manager - Hunter Manning.
- Contribute innovative ideas to assist with the growth of these services
- Develop and maintain effective and collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and provide direction to the Food Programs Support Worker on a range of operational and administrative tasks e.g.processing invoices, maintaining the volunteer database, organising delivery rosters, and responding to program enquiries.
**Skills and Experiences**:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Sound understanding of kitchen operations and safe food handling practices
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of employees and volunteers to achieve operational outcomes within the kitchen
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills both with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to deliver orientation and training
- Experience in working with diverse social backgrounds and life experiences, and vulnerable people with potentially complex presentations
- Demonstrated Volunteer training and assessment experience (Desirable)
- Understanding of Disaster relief response protocols and requirements (Desirable)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate IV in training and assessing (or a willingness to obtain)
- Food Safety Supervisor (or willingness to obtain)
- Diploma of Leadership and Management (or willingness to obtain)
- NSW Drivers licence
- WWCC
- Current First Aid Certificate
