Disability Support Worker

Hiring an **experienced** **disability support worker** located around Rosebud Vic.
- Experienced with children (ideally early childhood development)
- Must be active, as children are energetic
- Client has requested someone in their mid 20s - 30s, Caucasian with English as first language. Open to 40s if very active.
- Must be okay changing nappies
- Reliable car to transport 2 young children (carseats provided)
- 3 days a week split shifts, 2 hours in the morning for daycare drop off and 4 hours in the afternoon/evening (exact times TBD)
- 2 full days a week (once a bond is formed)
- $32 PH base rate + penalties + super

**About the Role**
Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to join the team. We are looking for competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients. We currently have casual opportunities available on the Mornington Peninsula for all successful applicants.

Support Workers are directly responsible for the day to day support, personal care and personal development of our clients. Shifts are dependent on client needs, varying in length, location and requirements. You will be matched with clients based on your availability, experiences and client preferences. Client requirements may include:

- Personal care - assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, toileting, eating and drinking, etc.
- High-intensity care - behavioural difficulties, PEG feeding, bowel care, wound care, etc.
- Medication administration, supervision and/or management.
- Social, recreational, community access - shopping, running errands, social activities, fitness, etc.
- Transportation - to and from appointments, work, social events/activities.
- Home care - general domestic tasks, maintenance, gardening, etc.
- Employment assistance

Support Workers provide a range of community living services to assist people with a disability to be actively involved in their local community, be valued, respected and engaged in meaningful opportunities and relationships.

- Be flexible to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, including weekends, sleepover and/or active night shifts, urgent/cover shifts (with respect to the availability of our employees).

- Be able to build a rapport easily with clients and co-workers.
- Maintain professional boundaries.
- Be willing to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training and be part of a team.
- Have the ability to be flexible, strong, quick-thinking and adaptable when responding to challenging or unexpected situations that may arise.
- Maintain communication with the business manager(s) (including shift notes and incident reports) as required and be receptive to feedback.
- Complete relevant NDIS Worker modules as required.
- Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct and S.A.F.E. Employment Agreement.
- Studying or completed Certificate III or higher in Disability or equivalent health field *Desired, but not required.

**Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain)**:

- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old).
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants
