Purpose of Role:
_ _The primary objective of this role is to perform the inspection of suspect defective materials as well as incoming products.

Performing a comparison of this verification against customer specifications, with the use of measuring tools & equipment, logging and reporting faults and discrepancies with the completion of relevant paperwork to be delivered as formal complaints to the vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
Environment, Safety and Health:
- Must comply to Weir Minerals Australia Ltd Health and Safety guidelines. Attend required safety and environmental training programs.- Meet the requirements of internal and external Environment, Safety, Health and Quality System.- Perform all duties in accordance with Company OHS&E policies.

Supplier Quality:
- Inspection to procured parts for any of the main following reasons: Part approval process. E.g. First Article Inspection (Weir OTSR report), Suspect Defective Material (CAR reports), Random Inspections of Incoming Material, Change Management Material, etc.- Inspection of Purchased Products by the use of the following equipment: Portable CMM equipment (Romer / Faro Arm) and Hand Tool Gages such as verniers, calipers, height gauges, etc. Good understanding of metrology concepts are required for a successful use of high precision equipment. As well as the ability to read and understand engineering drawings to ensure product meets specification.- Perform the dimensional inspection and paperwork register of the parts evaluated. Compiling and managing detailed sample inspection reports and registers.- Carry out daily SAP reports of the quarantine area. Complete the inspection process of the material by managing the quarantine stock in SAP and releasing the parts in the system accordingly.- Physical manipulation of the quarantine stock in SQD area and handling it along the inspection process by the use of forklifts and cranes to handle heavy items.- Continuous interaction with interdisciplinary groups to resolve product compliance doubts. Interact routinely with Purchasing, Engineering, Contracts & suppliers to pro-actively improve quality of components. Liase with design and product engineers to advise on metrology issues.- Ensure product compliance with ISO and/or customer specific requirements.- Provide support to Operations on any quality concerns.- Support warehouse receiving process in case of any doubts regarding identification and/or compliance vs drawing.- Document basic Corrective Action Reports and distribute them to the vendors. Continually work with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control & quality plans.- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment- Previous experience of visual inspection & metrology- Proven experience on the use of hand tool gages (Calipers, Verniers, etc) and portable CMMs (Romer Arm, Faro Arm, etc)- Able to read engineering drawings. Thorough understanding of dimensional tolerancing (GD&T)- Capable to use forklifts, cranes and handling heavy items- Previous experience in SAP is desirable but not mandatory- Basic knowledge on root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5W, Fishbone)- Good understanding of ISO 9001 standards- Able to work unsupervised & in a team environment- Excellent attention to detail- Excellent communication skills- Relevant experience in Microsoft programs

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write
