**Babcock have recently been awarded a major multi-year program to upgrade the Australian Defence Force’s High Frequency Communications System. The new system will provide Australia and allied armed forces with the ability to securely communicate using voice and other data from almost any location across the globe
This role is a great opportunity to develop your career and grow with the program as it evolves. The Procurement Officer will facilitate the purchasing of goods and services and ensure timely performance and compliance with company and customer requirements. Responsibilities could include:
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of procurement and supply chain, to create value-add and innovative solutions to business needs.
- Support the timely input of requests into the existing data system (IFS) and adequate follow-up of outstanding/overdue orders.
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries and concerns as they arise.
- Support the on-time delivery of orders from suppliers, ensuring their performance is as per contractual requirements and benchmark standards.
**About you**
You will be able to hit the ground running and thrive on establishing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You pride yourself and your ability to effectively find solutions to problems that may arise and maintain composure under pressure. You are a decisive, confident and articulate communicator and are able manage your workload efficiently to meet required deadlines. Additionally, you will also possess:
- Australian Citizen with NV1 security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Qualifications in Supply Chain and/ or Logistics (desirable).
- Experience in procurement.
- Experience in Inventory management.
- Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc) and ERP systems (IFS).
- Experience working in a commercial environment.
