**The Company**

The Australian Banana Growers’ Council (ABGC) is the national industry development organisation for the banana industry. The ABGC represents the interests of Australian banana growers on all issues crucial to the sustainability and profitability of growers.

The ABGC is a well established and highly regarded organisation with excellent governance and a solid financial foundation. Over the years, they have formed strong partnerships with Government and industry partners to enable them to continue delivering a wide range of industry development projects at the highest standard.

**The Position**

The ABGC is seeking a highly experienced professional with a key talent for building strong relationships between industry members and the organisation to assist the CEO in developing ABGC’s state and national policy positions, delivering associated advocacy work and developing membership engagement strategies and benefits to provide a high-level service and value proposition to members.

**The Person**

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following key skills, attributes and experience:

- Proven ability to raise the profile of an organisation through sound policy, membership development and advocacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills in building, maintaining and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders whilst maintaining high standards of confidentiality, accountability and transparency
- Demonstrated capacity to self-manage, make decisions and show initiative and contribute as a positive and supportive team member in a small office
- Proven experience with project leadership and team management
- Ability to travel domestically throughout regional Australia
- Experience working alongside and in support of the horticulture/agriculture sector and with farmers will be highly regarded but not essential
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt and meet challenges with resilience
- High level computer literacy
