Reporting to the Coordinator, you will be required to support our valued customers to achieve their everyday goals. Our Every Day Life Skills, Skills 4 Life programs & other Adhoc Programs have a strong focus on helping our customers to learn the skills needed to achieve their individual goals through the programs that we offer. This role would suit those with a genuine desire to promote the independence and inclusion in society of people with disability or developmental delay as well as a desire to support individuals to have a voice, choice, and exercise control over their own lives to achieve their individual goals. **There are a variety of shifts available including** - 2pm to 7pm weekdays & weekends - 4-6 hour ad hoc shifts during the day/night These shifts would be suitable for an individual looking to grow in the role of Disability Support Worker and increase their casual hours as the programs expand. **Desirable**: - Experience in the disability sector - Experience supporting customers with personal care - Experience in Everyday Life Skills and/or Vocational Skills **Essential Criteria**: - A demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers - Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their individual care plans, as appropriate. - Experience supporting customers with psychosocial disability, Intellectual disability, Acquired brain injury, physical disability, epilepsy and behaviours of concern. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - A current Driver's Licence - QLD Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) - NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain) - NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate - "Quality, Safety & You". - Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain) **Position Description** **Why work for us?** - We are a leading disability service provider in NSW,ACT & QLD, providing services and support for people with disability, their families and carers. - You will have your contribution valued and have opportunities to grow your career with us. - A family friendly workplace is offered, and support provided for staff to manage their home and work lives effectively. - Learning and career advancement opportunities - Save on tax and increase take home pay with salary packaging of up to $15,900pa - Many employee benefits such as: discounted health insurance, gym membership, motor service offers and more **Diversity and Inclusion Statement
