About the role
- Government - Infrastructure - Procurement.
- Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for providing high quality construction related procurement advice and services to Health Capital Division.
- You will also oversee procurement activities for one or more Infrastructure Delivery and Planning programs.
- You will be responsible for allocated end-to-end capital procurement projects, with oversight of moderations and evaluations.
- You will contribute to professional practice by maintaining a sound knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices.
- The services you will manage include procurement planning activities, developing sourcing documentation, releasing tenders, evaluating offers, facilitating contract negotiation, and administering arrangements.
- You will actively participate in the design of new solutions and ways of working, leading the development, implementation and review of procurement systems, strategies, policies, and processes consistent with the requirements of the Queensland Procurement Policy.
- You will provide high-level advice to clients in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to strategic and operational Health capital procurement.
- The role will be responsible for representing the procurement function, researching and preparing submissions, reports, briefing material, and correspondence to senior management.

The successful person
- To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate high level knowledge and experience in procurement within construction related projects, strategies, policies and practices.
- You will also have high level conceptual and analytical skills to develop quality options and manage strategies to resolve complex procurement issues.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills will be important as you advise and influence clients and senior management on procurement issues.
- With a high level of client and customer focus your understanding of procurement, including the ability to manage team procurements, scope projects, and engage consultants/contractors will be a key focus in your success.
- This role will suit a well organised supervisor, ensuring you set your own and team priorities and achieve results within tight deadlines in a changing environment.
