**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4 Technical Information Officer within Planning and Quality Branch.

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is the principal support agency for Parliament House—a unique building of approximately 290,000 sq. metres where more than 5,000 people work on sitting days and which nearly one million people visit each year. DPS works closely with the Department of the Senate and Department of the House of Representatives to support the operations of the Parliament and its Committees.

The Department’s objective is to ensure that Parliament functions effectively, and its work and building are accessible to the Australian community. DPS is responsible for the life cycle management of Australia’s most iconic building.

The Technical Information Officer role is an exciting opportunity to be a member of the highly skilled Building Information team. Building Information manages and maintains the information for Australian Parliament House (APH) related to the built environment including architectural, engineering, infrastructure, construction, and technical operations.

**Who we are looking for**:
We are looking for someone who has the skills and experience to update architectural, engineering services, and technical information as changes occur to the Australian Parliament House precinct through major and minor capital works and maintenance projects. Our office utilises 2D CAD and 3D BIM software packages and you will be required to have capabilities in both to complete your work.

You will be required to respond to Requests for Information (RFI’s) from clients in an accurate and timely manner, be highly organised, have great attention to detail and excellent stakeholder engagement.

You may be required to take part in Parliament House site visits to assist with 3D Digital Spatial Scanning or confirm construction details.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated experience using an industry standard Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drafting package such as Autocad or Microstation.
- Demonstrated experience using Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Eligible Qualifications and/or other Requirements:

- Qualifications in the field of Architecture, Building Design or relevant Engineering discipline.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Must have the ability to obtain an NV1 security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Provide administrative, documentation and project support to a small team responsible for managing and maintaining the quality of information (accurate, relevant and timely) for the Australian Parliament House (APH) building, through supporting the effective and efficient management of the APH Technical Information repository, in accordance with industry best practice, departmental policy and relevant legislation.
- Prepare and/or contribute to a variety of technical documentation including Computer Aid Drafting (CAD) documentation and Building Information Models (BIM) as well as written material of business cases, reports, Senate Estimates submissions, briefings and corporate documentation.
- Provide excellent customer focused service to respond to customer enquiries/requests, through clear, concise and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Use Service Management tools to monitor, track and complete customer service requests.
- Undertake on-site inspections/visits including the setting up and maintenance of measuring equipment.
- Support a strong team culture including a customer focused culture; and
- Undertake other duties as directed.
