Medical Imaging Practice and Research Assistant

PRIMARY DETAIL- Immediate start in a university-owned, innovative academically integrated healthcare organisation- Full time, Fixed Term opportunity available (until December 2028)- Base salary from $64,910 + plus Superannuation and access to the full salary packaging benefits via Maxxia. Salary as per Support Services EA (Administration Level 3).- Location: Macquarie University Hospital (Wallumattagal Campus), North Ryde

The Role

MQ Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Medical Imaging and Research Assistant’s to join innovative, patient-focused medical imaging team.

This role is responsible for the patient’s journey through the practice. The role will include clinical, administrative and research assistant duties that are vital for the efficient operation of the MRI department and the extensive research activities that occur within Macquarie Medical Imaging (MMI) at MQ Health.

MMI will consider a reasonable level of job flexibility for the right applicant. The applicant will need to be able to available from 7 AM -7 PM Monday to Friday. The full-time 38-hour work week can be completed over 5 or 4 days. Part-time employment will be considered for the right applicant.

This role will be a great fit for current students who are looking to gain experience in medical imaging.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Liaise with clinicians and researchers to enable medical imaging associated with research studies and clinical trials.- Liaise with clinical and research patients to confirm appointments and convey necessary pre-appointment instructions.- Assist radiology staff in completing the examination including preparing patients for examinations, assisting with patient positioning, and guiding the patients through the final stages of their appointment.- Liaise with external healthcare facilities to confirm patient safety and retrieve imaging and documentation that may be required prior to their examination.- Administrative duties for clinical practice and research studies- Stock control, cannulation, cleaning and housekeeping duties- Coordination with internal staff members e.g., arranging cannulation and appointment times with the wards.
