Our client is a leading Global Investment Management firm which has a long track record of successful investments in Natural Resources projects with a focus on Metals and Minerals that are part of the drive towards energy sustainability.

On behalf of our client we are looking to hire an Associate level team member into their Perth office - which is responsible for researching, assessing and investing in appropriate Resources projects in the Asia Pacific region.

We are looking for a person who has demonstrated a strong interest in the Mining and Metals industry through their work experience or study and is excited about being part of a team that will be making multi million dollar investments in large scale projects.

As an Associate, you will work closely with the existing global team to provide financial analysis and financial modelling that will contribute to commentary on the sector. You will own the financial analysis function, build and maintain financial models, analyse large data sets to identify key trends and communicate all necessary information to the investment board.

We are looking for someone with a curious mind, self-motivation, strong attention to detail and a passion for markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a person who has a long-term goal to be an Investment Manager.

**To be a strong contender for this job you will ideally offer the following**:

- Strong interest in the Mining and Metals industry
- Previous Financial Markets research experience or Natural Resources experience as a Geologist or Engineer
- Highly analytical mindset - ability to dig deep into financial information and draw conclusions
- Advanced writing skills and an ability to clearly communicate your ideas in a group environment.
- Advanced excel /financial modelling skills.
- Very high level of numeracy
- Educational background in Finance/Economics, Technical understanding of the Mining Industry would be helpful but not essential.
- Three to five years work experience in an environment were you have practiced the requirements above.

Please note that this job is performed predominantly in the office with some flexibility for home working.
