The Opportunity The Diocese is a major landowner with significant commercial property holdings in the Perth CBD together and other direct and indirect property investments.
We are seeking an experienced qualified accountant to join our finance team.
Your role is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting to support financial and budget decision-making for Diocesan property investments.
Your responsibilities include and are not limited to: Preparing operating, capital, and development project budgets for commercial properties and investment portfolio Reviewing financial and operational reports submitted by property managers, and identifying as well as reporting material variances from plans Producing regular financial reports detailing operating performance, capital expenditures, and progress on development projects Preparing monthly and year-end journal entries, including lease accrual accounting Compiling annual financial statements for a joint venture entity Overseeing cash flow and liquidity management Evaluating leasing proposals in comparison to budgets, and formulating recommendations Monitoring compliance with borrowing agreements and associated covenants About You You are a qualified accountant, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA Australia with experience working in the property sector.
An understanding of commercial property and the application of GST and other taxes on property transactions are essential, along with strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and organisational skills.
Technology One proficiency is preferred.
You take the initiative to learn, can prioritise workloads, and are an excellent team player.
