**Description**:
**The role**:
We are seeking a casual Catering Assistant to work at our University Residential Dining Room in North Adelaide. Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role is to work as a team player to ensure our students, staff, and guests have the opportunity to enjoy their meals in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with excellent food service and quality.
**Roster**: Evening shifts are available Monday to Sunday, and lunch shifts on weekends (20 to 25 hours per week).

$32.32 per hour + applicable weekend penalty rates

**What this role involves**:
Assisting with food preparation (e.g. peeling/chopping vegetables, making sandwiches and salads)
Providing friendly customer service
Plating and serving meals to a diverse range of customers
Washing dishes and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
Assisting with preparation and service of functions and conferences
Maintaining food hygiene, security and safety practices
**Skills and Experiences**:
Previous experience assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations and service
Ability to organise work with other team members and take direction
Reliability and availability for various days and hours
Ability to comply with OH&S and food safety practices
Ability to work in a fast paced environment during peak service periods
