**The Role**
The Data Centre Facility Technician is responsible for ensuring that the facility Infrastructure operates to the highest technical and security standards. The role is vital in supporting Customer Mission Critical Services and plays an essential part in the maintenance of facility infrastructure and in the response to any incidents related to the Data Centre facilities.
You will undertake electrical & mechanical preventative maintenance, repair works and call‐out services for facility infrastructure equipment, ensuring work is completed within set time frames in a professional, safe and cost-effective manner.
The Facility Technician will also assist in the technical support for all Data Centres for the organisation regarding facility projects, operations and upgrades.
**Responsibilities**
The role covers three key areas:
- Continuous proactive facility maintenance and contractor coordination,
- Supporting the Facility Manager; and
- Response and Resolution of facility incidents.
The Technician also provides the necessary support and management to ensure Data Centre access security is maintained and assists with the creation and execution of relevant work processes and procedures. The Operations Team is responsible for upholding and delivering world's best data centre services.
**Scope**
Data Centre Technicians support the data centre facility and the critical support infrastructure that keeps it running. These include:
- Emergency Backup Power (DRUPS/diesel engine generators),
- HVAC,
- Fire suppression systems,
- Security systems
**Physical Demands**
- Climbing ladders and lifting of tools and supplies.
- Awkward postures - sometimes required due to confined spaces e.g. crawling, twisting and bending.
- Forward reaching and reaching above shoulder height.
- Kneeling and crouching.
- Sensory requirements of colour awareness and hearing.
- Ability to carry out the physical demands of the position including but not limited to:
- Lifting and handling ladders up to 20kgs.
- Climbing ladders to access equipment.
- Carrying toolboxes up to 20kg.
- Working in high rise buildings.
- Occasionally working in extreme environmental conditions e.g. temperature, lighting, noise, smell.

**Requirements**:
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with the development of MOPs, EOPs & SWMS
- Electrical License
- Data Centre experience
