**What if new and different could be your new normal?**
We are looking for a
 **Manager for Natural Perils **to join our Pricing & Analytics team. Reporting to the General Manager for Pricing & Data Analytics, you will be asked to lead the management of natural perils risks to the general insurance industry, including supporting the underwriting, rating, pricing and exposure management of natural perils.
**You'll be responsible for**:
- Drive technical excellence by enhancing data, pricing and underwriting capability in natural perils modelling, particularly for riverine flood, overland run-off, cyclone, storm surge, bushfire, earthquake and storm.
- Lead the continual refinement of assessing natural peril risk, recognising technological advances, a changing climate and continuous improvement in available external data by identifying, evaluating and sourcing external data to enhance Allianz capability.
- Lead the embedment of Geographic Information Systems in business as usual processes to better understand and manage natural peril risk, in line with Group requirements.
- Develop and lead activities to broaden the knowledge base of natural perils within Allianz, including the capability development which addresses changing requirements.
- Lead the development and execution of natural perils initiatives as part of supporting the Allianz Social Impact strategy, Global climate initiatives and ICA industry initiatives.
- Provide insights relating to natural perils to internal stakehokders to inform business decision-making.
- Provide the technical oversight of natural perils to underwriting agencies and other Allianz entities, and ensure alignment with key legislative reforms and recommendations by regulators.
- Lead the review of underwriting frameworks and controls including catastrophe and post loss reviews.
**Important to your success**:
- Tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics or other relevant discipline.
- Experience in a leadership role in one or more of the following: general insurance, catastrophe modelling, reinsurance, geographic information systems, acquired in a general insurance organisation.
- Ideally proven success as a leader of people with experience guiding, mentoring and/or coaching colleagues, driving a high performance culture.
- Highly developed data analytics skills, using relevant software and Geographic Information Systems tools.
- Highly developed consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create strategy and valuable solutions with key business stakeholders.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
