As a Natural Hazard & Reinsurance Modelling Advisor, you'll contribute to the financial strength of Suncorp by delivering high-quality modelling and insights across natural perils and reinsurance. You'll work within the Capital & Investments team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support budgeting, reinsurance program design and allocation. This role offers opportunities for career progression and exposure to a broad range of technical and strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Design, maintain, and enhance modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimisation and allocation
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling
  • Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify modelling and analytical workflows
  • Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, and SAS; Python experience desirable
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects independently
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired
